2017 “MR” Modern Red

The serious stuff:

Frankland River Shiraz 67% and Pinot Noir 33% from 20 year old vines, hand harvested, co-fermented and crushed into open top concrete fermenters and left on skins for 8 days. Barrel matured in French oak barriques for 7 months – 25% new, 75% seasoned oak.

But, what does it taste like?

Pretty, floral, red cherry and strawberry aromatics with the raspberry and spice of cool climate Shiraz adding punch to the palate.

These challenging times call for a Modern Red with old fashioned values. The seductive Pinot Noir sharing bottle space with the hot headed Shiraz; making wine great again.
