2018 "Solo" Sangiovese

The serious stuff:

Sourced from 10 year old Sangiovese vines in the deep south of Margaret River, hand harvested, de-stemmed and crushed into open top concrete fermenters and left on skins for 7 days.

Raised in French oak barriques for 18 months; 10% new and 90% seasoned oak.  

But, what does it taste like?

Bright and energetic with soft, pure aromatics and a whiff of dusty oak.  Cherry cola and strawberry lead to gentle tomato leaf tannins and

bright acidity to polish off.

 

The Black Rooster takes to the stage, performing "Solo".
